A personal illustration project inspired by the horrific events of the 2010 oil spills in the Gulf of Mexico, I wanted to create a piece in very simple color tones. It started out as ironic commentary on how we're despoiling the beauty of Mother Earth, but really just ended up more as a graphic exercise in rendering. A digital illustration, it was conceptualized and sketched out in Painter in 2010 and lay forgotten in my files until I decided to complete it in 2012 in Photoshop.
